"The Kids" B.o.B. Featuring Janelle Monae

Vampire Weekend's Kids Don't Stand A Chance, is a great song on it's own. What's great about B.o.B.'s version is that it sounds enough like the original for recognition, but is different enough to keep the attention Vampire Weekend fan like myself. CRUISE IT, REPEAT IT Check it out.

Billboard Charts 10/30

#6 “Back to December” by Taylor Swift. What can I say, it’s a typical Taylor Swift song, but without the happy ending. Some say it’s about Taylor Lautner, but I’d rather not picture her with him, he may be young, but I’ve got a little crush on him. CRY IT

#27 “Lucky” by the Glee Cast is obviously from the Britney episode. Enough said. CRUISE IT

#41 “River Deep, Mountain Wide” by the Glee Cast is performed by the two fiercest girls in the Glee Club, clearly it’s awesome. REPEAT IT

#48 “Happy Days are Here Again/… “ by the Glee Cast gives me the chills everytime I listen. CRUISE IT

#50 “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” by the Glee Cast isn’t one of my favorites. It’s catchy, but a little to Kids Bop for me. PONDER IT

#54 “Move That Body” by Nelly Featuring T-Pain and Akon makes me move my bodddaaayyyy. Let’s take a moment to toast to Nelly’s return. CRANK IT

#80 “Little Miss” by Sugarland country song.

#87 “Sing!” by the Glee Cast is cute when you can watch the episode, but not great to listen to without the accompanying visual. SKIP IT

#94 “Le Jazz Hot” by the Glee Cast is great when Julie Andrews performed it, and just as great on Glee. CRUISE IT

#100 “This Ain’t No Love Song” by Trace Adkins country song.

"We R Who We R" by KE$HA!

Everyone hates on Ke$ha, and sometimes the criticisms are justified, the girl is crazy. Hate on her all you want, but she puts out some catchy beats. "We R Who We R", aside from showing Ke$ha is a lazy speller,  is another great song from this party girl. REPEAT IT,  CRANK IT, BE WHO YOU ARE TO IT

UK Charts 10/17- 10/23

#3 “Barbra Streisand” by Duck Sauce has a great beat, and don’t get me wrong, I’m fond of Barbra Streisand, but the parody is great. The video is fun to watch and features some great cameos. REPEAT IT, CRANK IT

#6 “Ambition” by Joe McElderry is a feel good jam. I like how the dance, it has a bollywood feel where people break out in moves in the street. CRUISE IT

#12 “Broken Arrow” by Pixie Lott is one for the girls. It’s not my favorite Pixie Lott song, nothing beat  “Boys and Girls”. CRY IT

#17 “Hollywood” by Michael Buble has a great music video, but I would expect nothing less from Mr. Buble. He consistently delivers. My favorite part is the beginning when he looks like the Biebs. HOLLYWOOD IT

#26 “Mad World” by Michael Andrews Featuring Gary Jules is puzzling me. Sometimes older songs will appear on the UK Charts. I like the song, I;m just not sure why it’s on the charts this week. If you think you recognize this song it’s because it’s from Donny Darko. CONFUSED BY IT

#29 “Hands” by The Ting Tings is disappointing. I had really hide hopes for the Ting Tings, especially after “That’s Not My Name”. BOOZE IT, SKIP IT

#34 “Magic” by B.o.B. Featuring Rivers Cuomo is a reverse Pond Crosser, new to the UK Charts, but not new to America listenersI love this song, and I’m happy to share it with the Red Coats. REPEAT IT

WHAT?! WHAT?! Whippin Willow!

I have decided this is the week of music videos. The music video gods have smiled up us my friends, correction they have whipped their hair. Willow Smith's video for "Whip My Hair" is everything I wanted and more. Girlfriend whips her hair all over the place, bringing color and fun to a dull world. I wonder what would happen if I whipped my hair with paint in class one day?

It's here!!! The video for Mike Posner's "Please Don't Go"

The video for "Please Don't Go" was released today at 5 p.m. EST. I love Mike Posner, and if he's talking to me (which I'd like to think he is) I will never go. He looks very fly in the video, but I would expect nothing less. Check it out!

Pardon My Cananigans

"Across The World" by Pitbull featuring B.o.B. was the song I should have posted for the song of the week during my trip to Canada. Props to my friend Ali for sharing this song with me, and props to her sister for sharing it with her. CRUISE ITCRANK ITREPEAT ITLOVE IT

Billboard Charts 10/23

Sorry for the lull in music analysis, a trip to our country’s northern neighbor threw me off. But how about (aboot) some new music EH?

#8 “Speak Now” by Taylor Swift is the typical story song that have made Taylor Swift successful. Girl and boy love each other, but aren’t together. Another girl is involved, but she’s all wrong for him and then she sings the chorus from his point of view and they live happily ever after.  Even though all of her songs are essentially the same animal with a different head this song is slightly different from the rest because it doesn’t sound as country, but girlfriend should not be breaking up weddings. CRY IT

#12 “Runaway” by Kanye West Featuring Pusha T should not be on the charts. The title of this song tells you exactly what to do if you hear it playing, so at least they were thinking of their listeners. SKIP IT

#36 “I Want To Hold Your Hand” by the Glee Cast is so beautiful. Makes me tear up every time I listen. Sniffle. CRY IT

#37 “One Of Us” by the Glee Cast is not one of my favorites from the show, but I gotta give it for them.  LIGHT A CANDLE TO IT

#51 “Only The Good Die Young” by the Glee Cast is awesome. Really, the song could not have gotten better, but they always manage to do it. LOVE IT

#51 “Raise Your Glass” by P!nk will never be on my iPod. I am not a P!nk fan in the least. In reference to P!nk I will only raise my glass if we are toasting her retirement. SKIP IT

#60 “Losing My Religion” by the Glee Cast is only interesting to me because my friend told me if you Google search “That’s me”, “in the corner” comes up right away. I know you’re going to check now; it’s true, but go ahead anyway. CRY IT

#65 “Papa Can You Hear Me?” by the Glee Cast is so beautiful. The whole episode was beautiful. I’m getting the chills now listening to it. CRY IT

#73 “Bridge Over Trouble Water” by the Glee Cast.  Is amazing. I’m not a religious person, but this one makes me love gospel music so much more. CLAP TO IT, CRY IT

#74 “I Look To You” by the Glee Cast. WOW, are you tired of hearing about Glee?? I would be, but the songs are so good I don’t really mind. LOVE IT, CRY IT

#82 “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars is great for a summer day, but I didn’t really need to hear Mr. Mars tell me about his day, does that really qualify as a song, or a diary entry? PONDER IT, CRUISE IT

#91 “Like We Used To” by A Rocket To The Moon is sad I guess? PONDER IT

#93 “Stereo Love” by Edward Maya &Vika Jigulina is a pond crosser. YAY UK CHARTS/BILLBOARD CHARTS FUSION!  The song appeared on the UK Charts this summer and has taken some time to cross over, but better late than never. CRANK IT, LOVE IT

#94 “Memories” by David Guetta Featuring Kid Cudi has been one of my favorite songs for a while. If you ever get a chance to see either in concert do it. I hope they collaborate again. CRANK IT, LOVE IT

#98 “Loca” by Shakira Featuring El Cata is in Spanish so I had no idea what this shewolf is singing about, then I listened to the English version. I still can’t really understand anything she’s singing, but I was excited to see Dizzee Rascal, a British rapper on the track. AY AY IT, BOOZE IT

Class Work to Help the Lehigh Community

Today in class utilized "crowdsourcing" and we made a map of sex offenders in the Lehigh Valley. We divided up our search giving everyone one or two zip codes in the Lehigh Valley. You can put your address into the map and see if there are sex offenders near you. If you are seeking any further information you can visit the Pennsylvania  State Police website and search by zip code. Safety first!

Mike Posner Never Lets Me Down

"Cheated" by Mike Posner is the best revenge anyone has ever gotten. Luckily for listeners the song is one of those songs everyone will sing along to. Unlucky for Caroline Stevens (bet you wished you hadn't cheated now) this is one of those songs everyone will sing along to, but seeing as I am not Caroline Stevens, nor do I know anyone with that name, this is my song of the week. I LOVE THIS SONG. REPEAT IT, CRANK IT, GET REVENGE WITH IT

UK Charts 10/2- 10/9

#1 “Written in the Stars” by Tinie Tempah ft. Eric Turner definitely deserves to be on the charts, but I’m not sure if it deserves the coveted number one.  PONDER IT

#3 “Let The Sun Shine” Labrinth is going on my ipod. I was skeptical initially, but now I feel it’s a great song to drive to, drink to, and get ready to. REPEAT IT, CRANK IT, CRUISE IT

#12 “Get Outta My Way” by Kylie Minogue sounds like every other Kylie Minogue song. I love her, but come on girlfriend, give me a song with a little more substance. Get Outta My Way is a sassy statement, but a boring song. PONDER IT (for a while) then SKIP IT

#15 "Pack Up" by Eliza Doolittle is not a new song this week, but it's a song I keep listening to week after week. She's got a great sound. Unfortunately I cannot embed the music video, but here's the audio. REPEAT IT, CRUISE IT

#23 Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) The Wombats is my favorite song this week. I love the video, which showcases the crazy lifestyle of rockstars. It’s awesome to listen to. I really couldn’t say enough compliments. REPEAT IT,  CRANK IT

#26 “This Little Light” by LZ7 sounds like it might be British Christian rock. The ending with a little kid singing is sweet, but there are no other redeeming qualities for this song.I hope God doesn’t spite with a SKIP IT

#31 “In The Army Now (2010)” by Status Quo is not for me. I don’t know what else to say. It definitely might be a song my dad listens to when he works out. BOOZE IT? SKIP IT

#36 “Ill Behaviour” by Danny Byrd may cause seizures, no joke.  I do like some techno every once in a while. BOOZE IT(crazy) RAVE IT

#39 “(Still A) Weirdo by KT Tunstall is no “Suddenly I See”. I didn’t think you were a weirdo before, but I guess you are. Weirdo maybe, but good song, yes.  Great for a rainy day. CRUISE IT

Billboard Hot 100 10/9

Glee fans unite, this week on the Billboard Charts is dominated by your favorite show.

#21 “Empire State Of Mind” by the Glee Cast totally revitalized this song. For a while there it was really overplayed, but this version made me appreciate the song. I wasn’t sure this was the best song to start the season with for Glee, but maybe I’m sure New Yorkers would beg to differ. CRUISE IT

#23 “Telephone” by the Glee Cast is awesome. I love the original song. “Just a second it’s my favorite song they (in this case Glee) gonna play” I love Gaga. I love Beyonce. I love Charice. I love Lea.  PHONE IT, LOVE IT, CRANK IT

#28 "Billionaire" by the Glee Cast is better than the original. I have never liked the original so anything could have fixed this song. My Nana singing this song would be better than the original, she’s 86, but obviously Glee did it better than she would. CRUISE IT

#38 "Listen" by the Glee Cast is obviously wonderful because Charice is singing. Her voice is so beautiful. Bring Charice back for more episodes! CRY IT

#51 "What I Did For Love" by the Glee Cast. I love Glee, but I don’t love this song. For the sake of my dedication to the show, PONDER IT

#62 "Angel" by Akon is typical Akon. Easy to listen to and hang out to. BOOZE IT

#84 "Stutter" by Maroon 5 is exactly what I would expect from Maroon 5. I love this band, and I think they have a very distinctive sound. In some ways I wish they would switch things up, but in general I rate “Stutter” C-C-CRUISE IT

#90 "Shake" by Jesse McCartney is what every girl wants to hear a boy say about her. I should acknowledge that my judgement might be impaired by my crush on Mr. McCartney, but the song is catchy. CRANK IT, BOOZE IT, REPEAR IT, (Jesse McCartney I LOVE YOU IT)

#91 "Loving You No More" by Diddy-Dirty Money Featuring Drake is a great song to hang to. It’s a got a smooth beat and laid back vibe. CRUISE IT

#94 "Please Don't Go" by Mike Posner has been one of my favorites songs for the past few months. This is one of those songs I'm proud to say I liked way before it's Billboard Charts days (pat myself on the back). I'm such a Mike Posner fan (even more of Mike Posner fan than a Jesse McCartney fan), and it's awesome to see him become successful. I think Samantha M. Posner has a nice ring to it. REPEAR IT, CRANK IT, MARRY IT.

Jersey Shore does We No Speak Americano

As if this song couldn't get any better...
