Enjoy the sunshine kiddos!

I noticed that I've been posting a lot of party and pump-up songs. Don't get me wrong I love them (clearly), but I feel the need to switch things up. Spring has sprung and the time has come to put the top down, or open up the sun roof, or at least roll down the windows. Anyway, it's definitely time to enjoy the sun, well whenever you get a break from the rain (East Coast, what's up). I was perusing the usual sites, Dirty Mexican Lemonade and RCRD LBL, when I found these songs.

"That's Just Me" by XV is a song about doing you. For those who know me: ME,ME,ME,ME,ME,ME (only child syndrome). Ok, so now that's out of my system, back to XV. I was checking out DML, and sampled this song, I was instantly pleased. "That's Just Me" delivers a head-nodding, smooth beat, with a catchy chorus. I literally haven't stopped listening soooo... REPEAT IT, CRUISE IT

"How Can U Luv Me" by Unknown Mortal Orchestra is for the quirky crowd.  Found this little number on RCRD LBL. It's upbeat and fun, with a retro theme. Also you have to appreciate the spelling of  U and Luv, my mom just mastered texting and I get texts with those versions.  REPEAT IT,  CRUISE IT

UK Charts 4/17

#14 "Judas" by Lady Gaga has got me confused. I love Lady Gaga so I feel like I should love it, but it doesn't deliver right away like "Born This Way" did for me. I'm guessing it debuted so highly because it's by Lady Gaga, and not because of the song itself. I do like the title, but only because my friends and I always say the "F-ing Judas" part from "Superbad" whenever someone gets the short end of the deal. Will I put this song on my work-out or party playlist, no. I will however probably sing to it when DJ's play it. PONDER IT, BOOZE IT

#28 "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" by Arctic Monkeys has one trippy music video. The video has a little bit of that 90's grunge feel. I like the dark rock and role feel, and it's a nice break from the typical pop songs that debut each week. CRUISE IT

#32 "Blow" by Ke$ha has moved across the pond to the tea loving radios. Alright! I have to admit that I didn't like this song at first, but then I found myself singing the chorus under my breath. As usual, Ke$ha puts out something catchy. Her songs were featured on America's Best Dance Crew last week, and I gotta give it up for Iconic Boys (they performed "Your Love Is My Drug"), they may be young, but they are sooo talented. CRANK IT, (GET IT STUCK IN YOUR HEAD)

#36 "Yeah Right" by Dionne Bromfield (Feat. Diggy Simmons) Dionne Bromfield has that old school sound of Adele or Amy Winehouse, but she's 15! She is actually part of Amy Winehouse's label Lioness, which seems like a perfect fit (soundwise). Then, there's Diggy Simmons. Anyone ever watch "Run's House", well cute little Diggy has entered his teens, and is delivering with the beats. He released "Great Expectations" in 2010, and I think the world should have great expectations for him. This young duo delivers a great jam, and the video is entertaining. I'm excited to see what's in store for both of these artists. REPEAT IT, CRUISE IT

Taio Cruz Keeps Me Dancing

"Believe In Me Now" by Taio Cruz (Prod. by Swedish House Mafia) Could there be a better combo? I was checking out Dirty Mexican Lemonade this morning and found this one. Without even listening to the track you know it's going to kill. Taio Cruz always has bridges and chorus' to sing along to. This song just makes you want to dance (even if you can't dance, I like to think I can, but maybe I'm giving myself a little too much credit?) If you like this one, give "Little Bad Girl" by Taio Cruz (Prod. by David Guetta) a listen. Ratings for both: REPEAT IT, CRANK IT

UK Charts 4/10

The new songs on the UK charts this week were definitely worth blogging about!

#20 "Beautiful People" by Chris Brown (feat. Benny Benassi) has crossed the pond to our tea loving friend's radio. I've blogged about it before, and I'm still listening to it. REPEAT IT, CRANK IT

#32 "Girls Fall Like Dominoes" by Nicki Minaj, samples from indie band Big Pink. As expected Minaj delivers. Her flow is solid, and her rhymes witty. There was some debate amongst YouTube commenters about her sampling, but I'm a fan. REPEAT IT

#37 "Bring It"by Jodie Connor (feat. Tinchy Stryder) is a jam for the girls. It's flashy, catchy and fun to sing along to. Definitely "bring it" out at parties, or when you're hanging with the girls. CRANK IT

#40 "Best Love Song" by T-Pain (feat. Chris Brown). We all know that T-Pain only has a career because of auto tune, but not everyone's voice sounds that great auto tuned, so I guess he has talent? I don't think this is the best love song I've ever heard, but it's a got a pop sound, that's good for the radio. LIKE IT (but not obsessed)

Ke$ha gets explicit (no surprise there)

"F**k Him He's A DJ" by Ke$ha. Girlfriend better grab a bar of soap and wash her mouth out. This is definitely a dance track for the girls to scream to. I didn't really like the beginning when I first heard this, but after the chorus I have to admit it, I was into it. I know there are a lot of Ke$ha haters out there, but give the girl some credit, she was one of the writers on Britney Spears's new hit "Til the World Ends", and there's not denying how that song has taken off. If you're fighting becoming a Ke$ha fan, you should just say, "F**k it", and just give in. She's clearly not a one-hit-wonder, this song debuted #97 on the Billboard Charts this week, and will probably only climb the rankings. CRANK IT, BOOZE IT, SCREAM IT?
